District Executives Welcome

Welcome to the website for the new Market Street Bridge that carries Route 15 over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River between Williamsport and South Williamsport in Lycoming County.

In October of 2007 the new river bridges and the direct-connect interchange with Interstate 180 were completed and opened to traffic. Although the major bridge work is done, there still is a substantial amount of work to be completed.

The pedestrian/bike bridges to connect the new Market Street Bridge to the River Walk Project will be completed this spring. The final paving of all of the road work that is part of this project will also be done this summer; Interstate 180 will be milled and repaved mainly at night to minimize traffic impacts. Via Bella will be reconstructed to a two-lane roadway with three roundabouts and period-style lighting.

I would like to thank the traveling public for their patience over past three years, and to remind everyone that there will still be some inconveniences through the upcoming months.

Please revisit the website often for updates or to ask questions about things happening on the project.

Sandra Tosca, P.E.

District Executive
